Where We Work
We're based at 1023 Station Dr in Oswego, and most of our calls come from right around here. Boulder Hill is about 2 miles from the shop, Montgomery is 3, Yorkville is 5.
We also get out to Sugar Grove (8 miles), North Aurora (9), Plano (10), Big Rock (11), Batavia and Warrenville (both around 12), and further out to Romeoville, Shorewood, Geneva, Crest Hill, and Kaneville, all in the 13-14 mile range. On the far edge of what we'll drive for, you've got Sandwich, Lisle, Elburn, Woodridge, West Chicago, Newark, Minooka, Winfield, Fairmont, Hinckley, Lockport, Channahon, Somonauk, Lemont, Wayne, Campton Hills, and Lakewood Springs to the west-southwest, all 15 to 19 miles out.
If your address falls somewhere in that ring, tell us when you call and we'll let you know straight away whether it's a same-visit job or something we need to schedule around drive time. We don't quote work outside that radius - not because the door would be any different, but because the drive stops making sense for both of us.
The Short Version
A quote is only as good as what you tell us. The things that actually move the number: the size of the door (single or double), what it's made of (steel, wood, aluminum), whether it's the spring, the opener, the track, a bent panel, or something electrical, and roughly how old the door is. A lot of houses in this area were built between 1958 and 2003, with a good chunk from the 80s and 90s - that era covers a wide range of door and opener types, so "my garage door is broken" alone doesn't tell us much.
What we genuinely can't price over the phone: anything involving a bent or off-track door, hardware that's been jury-rigged before, or damage we haven't seen. A cracked panel might be a $200 fix or it might mean the whole section is warped and needs replacing - we can't tell that from a description.
Winters here get cold enough that hardened grease and shrunk seals cause a different set of problems than a summer call, so we'll also ask what the door's been doing lately, not just what it's doing right now. Call 13312972518 and we'll walk through it with you before anyone drives out.
What We Will Not Do
We won't quote a firm price on a door we haven't seen or gotten clear photos of - anyone who does that on a broken spring or a bent track is guessing, and you'll pay for the guess either way. We won't sell you a new opener when a $30 sensor realignment fixes the problem, and we won't talk you into replacing a door that just needs a new roller set.
We also don't do commercial overhead doors or gate systems - our work is residential garage doors, springs, openers, tracks, and panels. If what you've got falls outside that, we'll say so up front instead of taking the job and figuring it out later.
One honest limitation: some parts, especially for older doors from the earlier end of that 1958-2003 build range, aren't things we keep on the truck. If your opener or track hardware is an odd match, we may need to order the part before we can finish the job, and we'll tell you that as soon as we know it - not after we've already started.
